Prabhu P. Gounder, MD

Prabhu P. Gounder, MD is a hospitalist with the Inpatient Specialty Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has certifications in advanced cardiac life support, basic life support, and pediatric life support.
Dr. Gounder's main academic interest is increasing access to health care for vulnerable populations. Prior to joining the Inpatient Specialty Program, Dr. Gounder worked in Malawi, Africa with Doctors Without Borders to help develop the rural healthcare infrastructure. Dr. Gounder is actively involved with the California Medical Association (CMA) and American Medical Association and recently sat on the Board of Trustees for the CMA, where he worked to find solutions for the millions without health insurance.
Dr. Gounder received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Riverside and his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
