
Norman N. Hoffman MD is a board-certified attending surgeon at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He is active in the endoscopic evaluation of colonic disease and the diagnosis and treatment of anorectal conditions.
Dr. Hoffman has been an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California - Los Angeles County General Hospital and instrumental in the training of many of today's colon and rectal surgeons.
Dr. Hoffman's research interests include the use of pre-operative radiation therapy in the treatment of anorectal malignancies, and the surgical treatment of complex perirectal fistulas. He pioneered the use of the CO2 laser and cryosurgery in the treatment of various anorectal conditions.
A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Hoffman received his bachelor of science degree from Texas Christian University and his medical degree form Vanderbilt University. He performed his internship at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital (now known as Cedars-Sinai Medical Center). After serving in the Korean conflict, he completed his surgical training at Los Angeles County-Harbor General Hospital.
