12:00 p.m. - Welcome - Hart Cohen, MD, Medical Director, MS Program, Division of Neurology, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
12:10 p.m. - Exercise and Multiple Sclerosis - Steven Kilmann, MD, Physiatrist, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Kilmann will speak about the role and importance of excercise in multiple sclerosis. He will discuss various rehabilitation modalities and exercise techniques and programs that can motivate and help maximize the benefits of movement.
12:55 p.m. - Living Well: Programs for Optimal Living - Denise Nowack, RD, Executive Vice President of Programs and Services, National MS Society, Southern California Chapter. Ms. Nowack will discuss the various programs that promote function and movement offered by the MS Society.
1:25 p.m. - Living Our Life Above Illness - A celebrity guest speaker will talk about his philosophy of living well with MS - elevating his life "above illness."
2:10 p.m. - Let The Force Be With You: Moving Forward - Hart Cohen, MD. Dr. Cohen will summarize the value of movement and positive lifestyle with a view toward the future. He will also discuss current research and innovations available to MS patients.

Hart Cohen, MD, is the Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Research and Treatment Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a Professor of Medicine and Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Cohen is also a private practice physician specializing in Multiple Sclerosis.
Steven Kilmann, MD, is a physiatrist (specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He trained at the University of California, Los Angeles prior to his appointment at Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Kilmann treats patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
As a physiatrist (specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation) he helps coordinate rehabilitation efforts for MS patients in the realm of physical, occupational, speech and language therapies as well as managing gait and balance disorders.
Denise Nowack, RD, is the Executive Vice President of Programs for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Southern California Chapter. She has more than 25 years experience in nonprofit program development and delivery and is a registered dietitian and has a certification from the American Council on Exercise.
