Guy Paiement, MD

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Associate Director for Education, Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center

Guy D. Paiement is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and Associate Director for Education at the Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center. His primary clinical interests are orthopaedic trauma and adult joint reconstruction.

In addition to being a guest lecturer and chairing dozens of courses and conferences on a wide variety of subjects relating to orthopaedics, Dr. Paiement is the winner of several research and teaching awards, including the Otto Aufranc Research Award, the General Motor Trauma Award, the Clinical Faculty Teaching Award from the University of California, Irvine and the James M. Morris Memorial Award from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr.Paiement was Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at both institutions.

Dr. Paiement is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Orthopaedic Association, the California Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthoaepdic Trauma Association. He has published more than 65 articles in peer reviewed publications such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, The American Journal of Surgery, the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. He also is a reviewer for many medical publications, including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Orthopaedic Research and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Dr. Paiement earned his medical degree at the Universite of Montreal, Montreal Canada, where he also performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery. He completed a research fellowship in joint replacement and biomechanics at Harvard Medical School, a joint replacement clinical fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a clinical fellowship in orthopaedic trauma from the Universite of Montreal. Also, Dr. Paiement earned a master's in business administration from the University of California, Irvine.
