Pediatric Urology

Abnormal conditions of the urinary tract and kidneys are among the most common pediatric health concerns in the United States, affecting millions of children each year.

The Urology Center provides complete diagnostic and treatment options for pediatric patients with conditions that affect the urinary tract or kidneys or both. These conditions include:

Diagnosis

Symptoms of serious conditions of the urinary tract or kidneys vary but are commonly indicated by frequent, uncontrolled or painful urination. The Urology Center offers state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques for accurately identifying urologic diseases and disorders in infants, children and adolescents. Physicians at Cedars-Sinai are currently investigating ways to diagnose problems in the fetus so that potentially life-threatening conditions can be corrected before they fully develop.

Physician Referral

The experienced team at Cedars-Sinai's Urology Center works with the referring doctor to set the best course of treatment for each patient and keeps the referring doctor informed of the patient's condition. When the patient is referred back tot he primary care doctor for continued management, Cedars-Sinai doctors remain available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide post-treatment support.
