Franklin G. Strauss, M.D., is a board-certified internist and nephrologist with Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and Cedars-Sinai Health Associates.
Dr. Strauss attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City for his medical doctorate. His bachelor's degree is from Columbia University, New York. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospital, and his fellowship in nephrology at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Dr. Strauss has been with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group since 1995, having previously been in private practice at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center since 1974. He has been on the faculty of the UCLA School of Medicine since 1974 and has been a clinical professor of medicine at UCLA since 1991. He served as a major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1970 to 1972, and was chief of the department of medicine at the U.S. Army Hospital, Fort Campbell, Ky., during that period.
Dr. Strauss has served on many committees at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, most recently on the Medical Executive Committee, Department of Medicine Performance Improvement Committee, Quality Improvement Committee, and Chief of Staff Advisory Committee. He was clinical chief of the department of medicine from 1995 to 1999, and served as the associate medical director of the Kidney Transplant Program. He is a medical director of Westside Dialysis Center.
Dr. Strauss has also served as secretary of the Specialty Society Delegation, House of Delegates, at the California Medical Association.
