
Philippe J. Quilici, MD, FACS, is an attending physician with the Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Quilici specializes in minimally invasive procedures, such as interventional laparoscopic surgery and laparoscopic bariatric surgery.
A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Quilici has focused his research on various laparoscopic techniques, laparoscopic instrument design, the surgical management of morbid obesity and gastric bypass surgery. He has presented his findings at national and international conferences.
Dr. Quilici has authored several books on minimally invasive surgery, including Second Generation Laparoscopic Procedures, New Developments in Laparoscopy and Interventional Laparoscopy: The State of the Art for the New Millennium. He has also written articles for such peer-reviewed publications as American Surgeon, Contemporary Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, New York Medical Society and Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Quilici received his bachelor's degree from College des Lyces in Avignon, France and his medical degree from Aix Marseille University in Timone, France. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, and he completed his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
