With the reduction of welfare programs and closure of trauma centers and county health clinics, the need for regular healthcare among the poor children of Los Angeles is critical. With limited access to healthcare, disadvantaged children and families are at greater risk of disease. From a public health standpoint, this increased exposure extends to the community at large. Research has shown that by providing preventive, primary medical care, healthcare dollars that would be necessary to treat illness are greatly reduced. Cedars-Sinai's COACH for Kids® program has proven to be an excellent medical and case management assistance resource to Los Angeles County's most vulnerable youngsters.
Your tax-deductible donations to COACH for Kids® will allow physicians, nurses and social workers to improve the physical and mental health status of greater numbers of medically underserved children and increase the opportunities of parents in their role as primary caregivers.
