Internal Medicine Residency Training Program Curriculum

The Department of Medicine offers a well-rounded training program in Internal Medicine. Because we are committed to preparing residents to become general internists, subspecialty fellows or medical researchers, our curriculum is flexible and individually tailored. Moreover, the clinical training occurs in diverse outpatient and inpatient settings so residents can experience a wide variety of patients and practices. Residents will spend at least one half of their rotations in the inpatient setting and at least one third of their rotation in the outpatient setting. The remainder of the program is a mix of clinical and research experiences, which vary depending on an individual resident's career goals.

Clinical Rotations

Each year is divided into 13, four-week rotations. Because our program trains residents for such a wide variety of careers, we offer different schedules depending on individual preferences.
