Xuemo Fan, MD, PhD

Pathologist

Xuemo (Sean) Fan, MD, PhD is a pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and a member of the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center and the Thyroid Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai.

Board certified in anatomic pathology, Dr. Fan also has special certification in neuropathology. He is a recipient of National Research Service Awards for neuroscience and has written more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Fan received his medical degree and fulfilled a residency in anatomic pathology at Nanjing Medical University, where he also became an attending physician in the Department of Pathology. He received his master's degree in pathology and his doctorate in neuroendocrinology from the University of Texas, Galveston. Dr. Fan also completed an anatomic pathology residency and fellowships in surgical pathology and neuropathology at Vanderbilt University.
