Graham N. Gitlin, MD

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center

Graham N. Gitlin, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at the Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Gitlin has advanced training and a specific interest in joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Gitlin's expertise involves innovative techniques for joint replacement and reconstructive surgery, including minimally invasive techniques involving less soft tissue trauma and faster recoveries, as well as complex revision joint replacement. He is and continues to be published in several peer-reviewed publications and has presented at international symposiums on total joint replacement. His primary research interests include the design and refinement of minimally invasive surgical techniques, implants and instrumentation, as well as the application of technological advances in imaging and navigation technology to orthopedic surgery. He is also regularly involved in teaching courses and training other medical professionals in the community and at international meetings.

Dr. Gitlin received his undergraduate education at the California Institute of Technology and the University of California, Los Angeles and his medical degree from the University of California, Davis. He served an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Davis and then completed a fellowship in joint replacement and reconstructive surgery at Stanford University.

Dr. Gitlin was recruited by Cedars-Sinai Orthopedic Center from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation at El Camino Hospital Silicon Valley. While in Silicon Valley, Dr. Gitlin was involved in current high technology advances and their application to orthopedic surgery, including computer-assisted navigation during total joint replacement.

A commercial pilot and certified flight instructor with more than 20 year's experience, Dr. Gitlin also has a successful record in aerobatic competition. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, a member of the Paul Lipscomb Society, and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
