Vaccinations to Prevent Pneumonia
Receiving a vaccination to prevent pneumonia may prevent you from getting pneumonia or if you do, helps lower the risk of complications that the disease can cause. The vaccination may also help prevent future infections.
Pneumonia can be a life-threatening disease, especially for persons who are 65 years and older. Screening for pneumonia and being vaccinated against it reduces an older person's risk of getting pneumonia.
This measure reports how many patients 65 years and older were screened and vaccinated to prevent pneumonia.
