David B. Agus, MD is Director of the Spielberg Family Center for Applied Proteomics and Research Director of the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is also an attending physician in the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology at Cedars-Sinai and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Under the leadership of Dr. Agus, the Prostate Cancer Center's research team is focusing on the factors influencing the development and progression of prostate cancer. In the laboratory, Dr. Agus is conducting research focused on understanding the biology of cancer and the development of new drugs and treatments for prostate cancer. He is also using new technologies, for example, gene chips and proteomics, that will reveal valuable information regarding "on" and "off" switches of the cancer and ultimately a more complete understanding of the various factors that influence cancer development, progression and response to treatment. Dr. Agus is leading the clinical trials programs of the Prostate Cancer Center, hoping to get the drugs from the laboratory to the patients.

Dr. Agus has published numerous articles and received several awards in the field of cancer research and drug development. He is a member of several scientific and medical societies, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Association for Cancer Research, American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Agus graduated cum laude with honors in molecular biology from Princeton University, and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship and residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
